| There are times that I hate where I work - people getting upset, the realization that this is not a nice neighborhood, oh please let my car still be there in the morning and in one piece, hopefully tonight the druggies won't try and break in - and then there are the times that you get warm-fuzzy affirmations.
Like this one. Doctor calls up, "oh, I hope you can help me." do the normal thing, get the patient accepted, "ok, um, actually, let me call you back"
Next, from the same doc: "thank you. you guys were so quick and professional and nice about accepting this patient, unlike everybody else. i'm definitely going to recommend that we call you more."

| OK, decided to nix the JEMS conference. (Well, may see if I can get down there for a night...depends on how I feel, really.) Bit financial, but other reasons. Mildly upset, not looking forward to the 5th degree from coworkers, but to them, Tough. Cookies. To myself: meh. Bummer to miss out on the Steve Berry lecture (and the exhibition hall!), but there will always be future years.
So, that means that I'll have some extra vacation time before my planned fall trip. Question is...where? I'm thinking about Cold River Camp; week in the mountains! That is, if it isn't too late to get a cabin up there. Hrmmm... - Mood:thoughtful

| Quote from a dungeon run today..."if the tank dies, it's the priest's fault. if the priest dies, it's the tank's fault."
We were running a group with a druid tank and 4 priests.

| Done with my ride time.
It's snowing...very pretty.
I take my first test on Thursday, with the next two in the next couple weeks.
And...
I think I have a job offer. Start as an EMT-basic, then when I get my medic certs transition into that.
I haven't felt this bouncy since the other night when I OD'd on chocolate, spent a few hours running dungeons with guildmates, and had a rum and coke in me. Not to mention a couple quests short of the level cap in Warcraft. Which I hit later that night.

| VERY work / stomach / sensibility-safe article This clicks, but there is still a sense of "what the hey is he writing here? Seems to be just "read more books and relax more!" Rather, I like this opinion much better. Again perfectly safe, even the picture. And this one...well, the paramedics described in this article are things that I never want to be. The attitude of "well, we don't want this run, we want the glamorous traumas and cardiac arrests" is just wrong. (And believe me, if I ever find out that my family or friends were treated like that by an EMS crew, I can and will find the correct chain of command to go up or to send them up.) | |

| Pictures! Some of 'emRen Faire, Zoo, beach. Still need to get the videos uploaded, but for now I need a serious nap. | |

| Not even 5 minutes into Ted Allen's new food show on Food Network. Good grief i'm scared.
But i can't change the channel...

| Hancock: beyond awesome.
Seriously.
See. It.
(my friend got a pass for two people to the screening tonight in King of Prussia. Since her husband was working, I won)

| ( Warcraft ramblings )DnD 4.0 - easy enough to roll a character, but the rules will be interesting to try and figure out a bit better. | |
